There was a "1st Community Information Forum", presented to the community by the GUHSD on Wednesday, October 28th, 2009 at the Alpine Elementary School auditorium...

At this Oct. 28, '09 forum we learned about the new high school planned for the Lazy A site in Alpine; 

Subject:  The Oct. 28th, 2009 GUHSD Forum follow-up Report

We heard from Grossmont Union High School District's (GUHSD) Superintendent, Mr. Robert Collins, and his staff, about the vision for the new Alpine and Blossom Valley area high school, and

1)  We were introduced to the committee working on the new school including your representatives from Alpine. The committee presented the guiding principles that will provide the ground work for the school’s technology driven curriculum and design.

2)  We were given a presentation by the architectural team about the initial design concepts for the school that will fit in with the beautiful but challenging Lazy A site.

3)  We learned about the many potential joint uses for the school that will provide a multifunctional campus serving the entire community...

There was a, "2nd Community Information Forum", presented to the community by the GUHSD on Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 at the Alpine Community Center (ACC)... 

At this June 8, '10 forum we learned all about the new high school's planned Design of Facilities, and the "Big Picture" Curriculum model;

Everyone involved in this 12th HS project both directly, and indirectly... mentioned or non-mentioned... please pat yourself on the back, take credit where it is due! This Community High School roll-out event was a huge success, this was a turning point. We have rounded a corner, entered the tunnel, and there is a bright light (LEED ) at this tunnel's end! 

Our new high school is to be exemplary on every level, and all the community members and parents are to be commended for contributing to this endeavor. More information will be forthcoming, as details become available. This AHSCC Information Portal is updated often. Please join us, get updated on past and future planning, and provide your valued input.
