Should our new Alpine area high school be smaller, or larger; emphasize the arts, and/or science, technology, engineering and math. Should HS be a magnet school... what emphasis? How about class sizes, athletics, multipurpose, recreational, and joint community use facilities? Public private partnerships... to get more bang for our bucks? Who should supplement public funding (public funding may fall short of giving us all we want and/or need), What about a private non-profit education foundation to manage private contributions?
All these, and many more questions are important and must be determined.
"The GUHSD is asking for local parents and residents to participate and help with input to this decision making.”
The AHSCC is only the facilitator to help our citizens get their tax money’s worth, and assures the next generation is educated as deserved, and our society and future well-being is nurtured educationally and with local community cultural and recreational centers. The facilitator (the AHSCC) doesn’t do any decision making… we have enabled our volunteers and participants to do the decision making.
"You are the decision makers, but only if you participate."
This project could amount to nearly $100,000,000 ultimately being spent locally. The only equivalent investment ever made in our micro-locality would be the tribal infrastructure and business investments of the Kumeyaay Nation of Native American Indians, the Viejas and Sycuan Bands. We need the local citizenry, local businesses, and the Kumeyaay to join together in one common goal, and facilitate what could be the biggest overall investment that may ever be made in our far East County area. This investment will reward us all educationally, culturally, socially, and economically.
